It is also part of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV) public transport network, so you can hop straight on the HADAG ferries with a HVV ticket for the underground/suburban railway or bus. There are no fewer than 18 jetties along the river, including stops at the Landungsbrücken and Fischmarkt – must-sees for anyone visiting Hamburg. Fancy popping over to the jet-setters on Finkenwerder, meeting a Flying Dutchman for a night at the opera, or simply admiring the logistical ballet at the container terminals? No problem!

Route 73: Ernst-August-Schleuse
I see no ships! We can’t dock at the Ernst-August-Schleuse jetty if the water level is above average. High tide can be exceptionally high here, especially when there are westerly winds. When that happens, our ships can’t pass below the Argentinienbrücke bridge. If you find yourself high and dry with no ferry in sight (which happens on about 40 days a year).
